Seeds of a variety widely used in Mediterranean cuisine. The plants are usually of small dimensions, especially in height, and do not exceed the 25-35 cm but extend in breadth. The foliage is roundish or oval, of decidedly small size, and together with the thin stems, ramified, gives to the itera a dense and compact look. The type leaves are covered by a thin down, which in many species and cultivars renders them of greyish colour.
